With our solo guide for the Cayo Perico Heist in GTA Online you can rock the finale in about 7 minutes and get around 1.4 million GTA dollars. The approach is still easy even on « Hard » and suitable for beginners. We also give you tips on the Heist.

What is this guide? The Cayo Perico Heist has been in the game since December 2020 and even in 2022 it is still the best way to make a lot of money quickly. There are different approaches that affect the time required.

In this guide, we’ll show you a method to steal the main objective, steal some extra valuables, and complete the finale in 7 minutes. That’ll bring you about 1.4 million GTA dollars and is one of the easiest exercises for solo players. This is how you easily earn a lot of money solo.

Keep in mind that there are many ways to rob El Rubio. We will show you one here that works very well for us and that we have successfully carried out more than 100 times. It works completely without triggering an alarm.

Preparations – Which missions are necessary?

Before you can start the heist, you need to go to the planning screen and make various preparations in your Kosatka. The planning on the screen is divided into « Information », « Equipment » and « Finals ».

Information: If you are playing the Heist for the first time, it is advisable to get to know the island completely and to find all the different infiltration points. For our guide, however, only the sewer is important as an infiltration point.

We also spied out the escape points, but only one is important here in the guide. We take the main dock. We all know the access points to the property – but we also rely on the sewers in the guide. There is a trick to spying on Cayo Perico. Keep in mind that you only have to do scouting for the various points once and then use them again and again in future heists.

You can spy out interesting things as you like. This is not important for this approach.

Gear: The Kosatka and the Longfin are well suited as approach vehicles. We describe the approach with the kosatka in our guide, so we recommend you to take it too. In the end it’s personal taste though.

You absolutely need the cutting torch as equipment in order to open the lattice of the sewage tunnel and small locks in El Rubio’s treasure chamber. The fingerprint cloning device is necessary for you to get in (and out of) the basement quickly. You need the plasma cutter to steal the main objective. The cutting charge is optional and not necessary.

In the arsenal of weapons, we choose Aggressor. But that also depends on your taste. As a rule, you shoot down two to four guards. It is important that you can pull out the guns quickly and that they work with silencers.

Tip: You don’t have to buy the silencers. If you choose the nighttime approach, you will receive it automatically and save yourself the GTA$5,000.

With this approach, we don’t need sabotage missions at all.

Cayo Perico finals – make your choice and start

After the preparations, you can start the job on your own on the planning screen. There is no need to buy armor for $500. But you can take it with you if you are unsure.

Selection:

• Approach vehicle: Kosatka
• Infiltration Point: Sewage Tunnel
• Access to the property: sewage tunnel
• Vanishing Point: Main Dock
• Time of day: night
• Armory: Aggressor (no need to purchase silencers)
• Hire support crew? no

Now you can start the job.

Launch Heist – Easy route for quick finale

Here’s how to proceed: After starting the heist, loyal Pavel will take you near the sewage tunnel in the submarine. You have to swim straight for about 30 seconds and then you will arrive at the grid marked in yellow. Head straight to the grate, then select the option to cut it open with the cutting torch. Cut all the bars marked in green and you’re in the tunnel.

Swim the tunnel to the end and then dive up. Confirm the prompt to enter El Rubio’s Manor. You don’t have to waste any time now for the optimal route.

The route to the loot: After you emerged from the tunnel, a short cut-scene runs. Immediately afterwards, turn around, run up the stairs and across the area as shown in the graphic. If you don’t dawdle, you can sprint all the way to the next point without being bothered by guards.

In front of the big stairs you stop briefly and wait until the guard goes to the right (first red X on the route graphic). Then you run up the stairs and left around the building. When you get to the back, sneak up and shoot the guard standing there (second red X on the route graphic). With a bit of luck, the guard will drop you a gate key that will become important later.

After the kill, keep going up the stairs. You’ll meet a guard running down the stairs. Kill them silently on the top stairs by hitting his face with your weapon (third red X on the route graphic). There is also a chance that the guard will drop a gate key here. Make sure you collect it.

You’ve now quietly arrived in El Rubio’s office, and you’ve already got the most stressful part of the Heist finale behind you. In the office you will find a key card on his desk, which is of no interest to solo players. Next to the desk is a wall with lots of pictures – this is his hidden safe. Open it and grab the cash (and a pistol) from inside.

Now look around the office. There can be up to two paintings hanging on the walls that you can steal. Pack them if you have them.

office looted? Good. Then follows one of the easiest exercises: The fingerprint scanner. You can find it next to the elevator that leads to the basement.

Simple trick for the fingerprint scanner at Cayo Perico

At first glance, the scanner looks confusing, but with a trick it can be solved in less than a minute.

• First you look for the upper end of the fingerprint in the top row – This is very easy to see with every pattern. We call it « 0 »
• In the second row you look for exactly the same upper part 0 again, and then press once to the right. So 0 + 1 (times to the right)
• In the third row you look for the upper part 0 again and press twice to the right. So 0 + 2
• In the fourth row, look for 0 again and then press right three times, 0 + 3
• In the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth row, as in the examples above, there is always another pusher to the right
• Once you have memorized the system, you can solve the codes in a few seconds

Once you have arrived in the basement with the elevator, you run straight ahead and cut through the chains that block the door with the cutting torch.

Now use the plasma cutter to free the main target from the display case. Be careful not to overheat the part, otherwise it will cost you more time.

Escaped Cayo Perico in the Heist – The easiest escape

You now have two escape options:

1. Through the gates in the basement for another fingerprint scanner (but only two tests)
2. Back through the office

Option 1: Escape through the basement is only a viable option if you’ve picked up a gate key from one of the two guards you killed on the way to the office (or found the key in Los Santos). You go to the fingerprint sensor in the basement, solve the two puzzles using the method mentioned above in the article and turn right after the scanner. Opens the gate.

Now climb up the wall on the right and then immediately left over the small stairs. Now slowly approach the exit gate and either shoot the patrol there or wait in the garden for a moment until they leave. Then go to the gate and confirm that you want out of there.

Option 2: Without the gate key, you can take the elevator back up to El Rubio’s office. Go out through the front door and run down the stairs you walked up earlier. At the corner where you shot the stationary guard (below), turn right. Wait for the patrol to march into the passage on the left in front of the building. Slam it or wait for it to stand in the aisle.

Then you jump straight over the railing, then go left into the garden and you can already see the exit gate. Now slowly approach the exit gate and either shoot the patrol there or wait in the garden for a moment until they leave. Then go to the gate and confirm that you want out of there.

The last meters in the final: Since we were able to solve everything in stealth, there is hardly any resistance in the last meters. From the gate, run straight ahead and take out the guard waiting by the motorbike. Grab the motorbike and ride close to the wall to El Rubio’s quarters or follow the path and shoot the guard at the helicopter too.

Now jump from the island into the water with the motorbike as marked on the screenshot. From now on, the helicopter will follow you, but it will not pose a threat if you dive.

Just keep swimming south and ignore the yellow marker at the main docks. After about half a minute of swimming, you’ve managed to escape and the cut-scene starts, in which you’re handed the money.

Depending on which loot was the main objective and how many paintings and cash you were able to steal from the office, you should get between GTA$1 million and GTA$2 million from the heist.

If you spend more time and, after robbing the main target, drive to the docks or the runway to steal valuable goods such as coke, you can increase the maximum yield. But that takes more time and is more risky.

With this guide we want to show you how you can easily and almost without risk steal the main objective and a few paintings from El Rubio.

Even as a beginner this is not a problem. Because the heist is so fast, you can complete it multiple times a day.

Tip: After the heist, it takes about 8-10 minutes for Pavel to call you and explain that you can start preparing for the new heist. Do that quickly and then quickly visit Pavel in the Kosatka and start a new heist on the planning screen. Because this will automatically set it to « Hard » and you will get more loot.

You only have one game day in GTA Online to do this, otherwise you will start the next Cayo Perico heist on « normal ». However, the hard mode is not particularly difficult for you, which is why you should definitely use it with its loot bonus.
