CI Games announces layoffs
CI Games, the Polish game developer and publisher behind the Lord of the Fallen and Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchises, is planning to lay off approximately 10% of its staff.
The layoffs are said to affect staff across the entire company, but the exact number of employees to be impacted is not yet known. CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski stated that the decision was necessary to ensure the company’s strength and stability.
CI Games owns Hexworks, which developed the action role-playing game Lord of the Fallen and Underdog Studio, the internal development team behind the Sniper: Ghost Warrior tactical shooter series. It’s uncertain whether these studios are affected by the layoffs.
These layoffs are part of a wider trend in the video game industry, with Unity announcing layoffs of approximately 25% of its workforce and Twitch laying off over 500 employees. Other studios, including Lost Boys Interactive, are also restructuring.
